I’ve several of your books including your latest one. Would it still be a good idea to purchase the Big CI Book, too?
It depends if you have all the strategies clear in your mind and are using them. In that book they are all there in one place, clearly spelled out.
Done. Clicking the link, submitting your name and simply hitting 5 stars is probably very helpful as well.
Done. Here’s my review:
I tried TPRS 15 years ago — after Blaine Ray came to our county and did an inservice for us. I took a 3 hour course with Suzanne Gross, and I tried to implement what I learned. But I needed a game plan. I needed structure. I needed instructions as to how to start, how to proceed, what to do when it didn’t work, how to deal with the curriculum, etc. In short, I needed this book. I feel like a rookie again, and I am, for the first time in years, excited to teach. I’m learning, and Slavic’s book and Professional Learning Community are teaching me to have fun and rigor and actual comprehensible input in my classes. I really thought about spending over $40.00 on a book from Teachers’ Discovery, and now I am so glad and grateful that I did. Don’t get me wrong — I’m still learning and I’m sure I’m making lots of mistakes. But I am approaching my classes in a completely new way, and I am becoming a much more effective teacher in the process.
Thank you!
