Quick Quizzes – 3

What would a quick quiz on the content of the Henry tableau look like? Below is an example. Notice how easy the questions are to answer. The quiz is written, obviously, in English. You translate the questions into the target language when you ask them.

Possible questions from our text for the quiz:

  1. Does Henry play the violin? (Y)
  2. Does Henry play the violin in December? (Y)
  3. Does Henry play the violin in New York? (N)
  4. Does Henry play the violin in France? (N)
  5. Does Henry play the violin with a giant? (Y)
  6. Does Henry play the violin at 5:00 a.m.? (Y)
  7. Does Henry play the violin in the evening? (N)
  8. Does Henry play the violin on Monday?  (Y)
  9. Does Henry play the violin in the morning? (Y)
  10. Does Henry play the violin in the afternoon? (N)

Notice the Y and N in parentheses after the question.  When my quiz writer hands me the quiz with about ten minutes left in class (that is plenty of time), she includes those answers just as they are written above to make it easier for me to grade. I memorize the yes/no pattern of the first five questions and grade only those first five of all of the quizzes first, then do the same for questions 6 through 10.
