Thanks for the props. And I mean props in every sense of the word. We didn’t need inanimate objects. The people in the room were the props. We were propping each other up, that is, supporting each other, the whole time. It was James who whispered to me to get actors to play the tent. That had not occurred to me, and it really helped things. Then came the curve balls: having Bob Patrick leave and come back as a belligerent student who got kicked out of another class; stopping class to comment on one or another detail. It all helped me immensely, and tested my ability to hold steady. It’s easy compared to a room full of 7th grade boys.
All the people in the room helped to make that lesson a success. And then James took over with the reading and another great story. I am just so happy that we were able to share Latin with you all, and continue to work out the bugs.
You were totally Badass John. So fun to watch you in action.
I want to get some counters for my students…does anyone know that name of the silent kind to order from amazon?
Here’s the link to the counters I bought. 99 cents each, free shipping.

If that link does not work, go to ebay and search:
“5 Digit Mini LCD Electronic Digital Golf Finger Hand Ring Tally Counter”
I have the actual clicker type used by Costco and others. I bought them at Office Depot for $2.99. Prices might be higher in Alaska.
Actors for inanimate objects almost always works very well.
This was definitely the highlight of my iFLT. Getting the opportunity to see John AND James teach Latin in person was an unbelievable treat. I can’t wait to use what I learned with my 7th and 8th grade Latin students this year!
Yeah that’s me. ¡I learned Latin in 30 minutes! One of the Latin Kings strikes again.
