Ben:
I was recently reminded of the Twext online resource for creating interlinear texts of songs, etc., something which you have used in the past. It looks like the Twext website is currently down. Do you (or anyone on the blog) know of any similar resources out there for easily creating interlinear texts in the meantime?
Also, what brought me back to Twext was an article on using Karaoke in ESL.

I also know of a Latin teacher who makes extensive use of Karaoke in his classroom, and have considered doing it a bit myself this year.
Thanks,
John

I’ve been making my own twexts with Keynote (Mac’s version of PowerPoint). I make the Spanish really big and set it to double spaced. I create text blocks underneath and just type the English. I set the text size to small and change the color to a hard-to-read grey color.
As the week progresses I delete bits of the English. It serves my purposes of studying songs and poems in class.
John,
I tried out the link to Duke’s tweeting site, it still works. Did you use this one:

John,
I think right now one can use the program to twext whatever, but it cannot be printed or transferred properly to another program (i.e. Word). I for one would love to see Duke offer this additional service, through his website or however. Maybe he’s reading this…
Regardless, escuelaschool really is cool.
