I have worked on the idea that if a student does outstanding in the class but has poor spelling skills then he or she would have done poorly in a grammar class. Does this description fit Daniel?
Exactly so Nathaniel. I overheard him having to anwer the question on the very first day of school from the wide eyes 7th graders, “Why are you in here? You’re an 8th grader!” And he mumbled enough for me to grasp that he had failed the year before with the teacher I replaced this year. Immediately my heart went out to him. Each month he trusted me more and more and now he is a superstar actor and by the way just happens to know a hell of a lot of French.
