John shows why he is a PQA Commander. He is willing to “go there”, where “there” is into trust that PQA can become something more (extended PQA or even a story). Here’s his scary (for those of us easily frightened by the PQA goblins) suggestion. We can definitely do this tomorrow. Then maybe Wednesday, if we work the PQA hard enough tomorrow, a story happens and then the reading of it, embedded, on Thursday. Song on Friday. OK, my week is planned. That wasn’t too hard. I’d hate to be a traditionalist right about now. Reeling those imaginations back into the book and worksheets and word lists and tests after one of the most imaginative times of the year. That would suck.
Ben,
I’m thinking a lot of students are going to be out of it tomorrow, after the Halloween festivities. Here are a few structures and questions that could easily be made into a story using students’ answers. I’m guessing that more than one of these structures will already be familiar to most classes.
Structures:
at night / last night
stays up
begs
eats candy
too much
Questions to ask:
Class, who eats candy?
Class, who stayed up last night begging for candy?
Class, who ate too much candy?
Class, who stayed up late begging and eating too much candy?
Instant PQA and/or story.
