You and Dale just double-handedly inspired me to start staying on my bike for more than my usual 3-4 daily miles (sometimes I go the long way home). I’m going to start counting miles.
TPRS and now this too? What inspiration!
Hey Ben, I imagine you and Dale taking turns drafting off each other’s wheel, all the way back into town, enjoying the ride and the sweaty success of a good ride in the open air. Keep riding! Ben
Actually we were back into the gnarly part of town without a chance to draft. It was more zig and zag back in. Not like the Central Valley out there, where I would assume you can go straight for uninterrupted miles. Here’s a funny one – Bryce and I are talking about riding into Saint Louis for NTPRS next summer. We’ll chicken out, but we’re having fun talking about it. There’s a guy named Mark Webster in Michigan who rides. We need to all get together for a week of riding and talking teaching.
Please do bring your bike! I’ll show you around StL in style, although with less of a $7000 bike and more of a $700 bike…
When I was an undergrad at Washington U., there were no bike paths, just Forest Park. Are there good paths now? I might be able to talk Dale into coming with Bryce and I. Does anyone know where the conference will actually be held?
Conference will be held way out by the airport, at a Hilton, and I don’t know of good places to ride out there, but we do some good rides down by the riverfront and on Clayton Road. I’d be happy to organize something and try to find some bicycles for anyone interested who couldn’t bring one.
I am fixing to ride my bike home from school this afternoon right now, Ben. In training for July!
You must have driven in, dude. That’s some cold air at 5:30 a.m. for 17 miles on the way in!!
