What if we write the story during the its creation and project it right then and there?
When I do this, I can see the reading and writing gains piling up in the kids’ minds like snow in Québec at this time of year.
Of course, I can’t sit at the computer the entire time of the development of the story. I tried it and it didn’t work. The art of asking a story demands that the teacher be moving around the room, extracting and building the story.
But there is nothing that says that the story can’t be written during little pauses in real time, in little 30 second chunks. It might burn up a bunch of projection bulbs but in my opinion it is worth it.
We are testing voice to text options on this right now as well.
