  1. I now do movietalks in a story-listening style. It works really well.

I have these two products on Teachers Pay Teachers that are kind of an example of it:

If you are a paid member of Ben’s blog and you’d like one of these for free, just let me know and I will email it to you: gregoryschwab@gmail.com

  2. MovieTalks in a StoryListening style is a great idea, Greg. It’s much less pressure on us to be good artists.

So, does Dr. Mason ever read the stories with her students after telling the stories. You know, like, does she do a Reading Option A kinda thing like we do, Ben? Anyone know? From the above article, it sounds like she tells stories but doesn’t read them aloud with her students.

I mean, if this is the case, maybe I spend too much time and effort on Reading Option A, i.e., whole group reading time of stories we co-narrated from OWIs, Story Scripts, and Invisibles.

    1. Sean the reading options have changed. There used to be twenty and now there are nine, the survivors of rigid testing over the past five years to see how they fit in my new NTCI curriculum.

After creating and reviewing and then writing out the story or tableau, they are used, never all nine at once, and the option to do whichever of the nine I want gives excellent flow to a class, which it seems you are after here in your comment.
