I understand that some schools are requiring teachers to pre-record online lessons. Here is what Alisa says about that:
I have to attend trainings now on Schoology, Nearpod, Flipgrid and some iPad apps like Apple Clips, Keynote, Numbers and Pages (it’s a suite) – assuming we’ll need them for remote learning (at least partial, maybe full-on) in the fall.
Am I really gonna get fast & loose with all these applications? Are they relevant for elementary distance language teaching? How much time do I want to invest in cute distance lessons?
Will I be teaching live or pre-recorded classes? This is a HUGE CONSIDERATION. Asynchronous/pre-recorded instruction doesn’t beget acquisition because the language parent absolutely must negotiate meaning in real time with novices!
