Hi, All,
Does anybody have an awesome selection of FVR/FCRs in French.
I am interested in getting started.
Thank you to anyone with any suggestions! 🙂
Leighanne I have a nice selection in my room at this point, but I am on spring break. So I cannot take any pics of them, but what I started with was your average TPRS Books books and also Fluency Matters books, but some of them are fun for the kids and others are not as popular. One thing that is going SUPER BIEN is to have them read an English book “behind” the French translation. They really love that. I have Junie B Jones, Ricky Ricotta, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Ook and Gluk, Super-Chien (dont j’ignore le titre en anglais? Dogman??), and the graphic novels of Raina Telegmeier which include the Club des Baby-Sitters, Ghosts, Smile, Sisters. They love those so much. I also have some Harry Potter and Hunger Games. They really do get a lot out of this paired reading. And they feel good about it too. I really like what has been going o n with those. Also I have Scholastic magazines in levels one and two as well as CĂ©cile LainĂ©’s “Petit Journal francophone” printed out. I just got this choose your own adventure book called “Bart veut un chat” from TPRS Books and though I have yet to put that out for French, my Spanish kids have enjoyed the Spanish version. Sadly there are not as many fun books for French (Craig Klein Dexemple’s books are huge for my Spaniards as well as Sr Wooly’s graphic novels, they EAT those UP) so that is why I started experimenting with this paired L1/L2 reading.
Go Greg!! Nice work!
Here is my latest FCR Reader with accompanying native speaker audio. For when you have sub plans or need a break.
