PQA in a Wink!
PQA in a Wink! is a new book by Ben Slavic which describes the important process of authentically personalizing the TPRS classroom.
Also known as the Yellow Bible, the new edition of this book, released in October of 2007, is 147 pages long.
A companion text to TPRS in a Year!, it aligns with the first set of skills, which directly address personalization.
Ben explains:
“PQA is like a secret potion in TPRS. It is the most effective tool I know to make the method work. As such, it deserves our close attention and study.
“In PQA in a Wink!, my intention has been to describe in step by step detail exactly how to communicate with the kids in a fun and personalized manner.
“The reason PQA fails with a lot of teachers, in spite of the fact that it may just be the most important aspect of TPRS, is that the general idea of talking to kids about stuff that interests them is not that easy. How, exactly, does one do that?
“So I wrote this kind of playbook for PQA. It’s not a methods book like TPRS in a Year! – it just offers specific, easily implemented, step by step suggestions and activities about how to interact with the kids and get your classroom authentically personalized.
The book also addresses how to start the year with personalization, as well as how to use personalization to insure good classroom discipline throughout the year.”
