Be authentic, be yourself – a word I heard a lot in Reston and chill. Sometimes I take myself too seriously. This is going in a prominent place in my room this year. Via Grant:
When acquiring a second language…
We learn to LISTEN first.
We learn to READ what we listened to.
We learn to WRITE what we read and listened to.
We learn to SPEAK because we heard, read, and wrote it.
C’est simple!
Before the last sentence, Grant also added in red and then…finally….
Like that!
That’s going up in my room as a poster! Thanks chill
Power to the freaky mirthmakers!
Alisa best to the Chicago Three! Today I had a talk with someone who was real skeptical. I let my freak flag fly. It felt right. Hey, we have the research. Although on the other side of it, I just wish we could keep dreaming here together and coming up with great new strategies like we always do and support each other when we fall down and help clean up all the scrapes and bruises we are bound to get in retooling what we do in our classrooms, and not get into talks with those who don’t offer much else than skepticism.
